Key topics of theory and professional practice are covered each year and, over the full four year programme revisited from differing perspectives, thus allowing a progressive deepening of understanding and integration into practice. Training comprises a mix of interactive theory input, structured learning exercises and small group supervised practice. Trainees who are planning to become qualified are required to experience personal therapy, and supervision of client work (usually either as volunteers or in private practice).
Full details of the requirements to be met for qualification as a Certified Transactional Analyst and UKCP Registered Psychotherapist can be obtained on request from Psyche Institute.
Qualification as a Certified Transactional Analysis is via written and oral examination by the UK and European Institutes of Transactional Analysis (having met the requirements for training, client hours, supervision, personal therapy etc). Most trainees join the Psyche institute Exam Preparation Group to prepare for these examinations.
