Jim Davis BA(Oxon), MSc, Relate Cert Couns, CTA, TSTA.  

Jim is a qualified UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and a European Association of Transactional Analysis qualified supervisor and trainer. He has practised as a psychotherapist for over 20 years, with individuals, couples and groups, and has trained in gestalt, person-centred, bodywork and couples therapy (qualified with Relate Marriage Guidance) as well as in Transactional Analysis.

He has trained counsellors and psychotherapists for over 15 years, and has a proven track record of high quality training and the preparation of trainees for successful qualification. His style of training encompasses a deep knowledge of theory and practice, clear structure, warmth, interactive learner-centred teaching, and fun.

He is a visiting trainer with other training programmes and an active member of the Institute of Transactional Analysis (ITA), in UK and Europe. He is currently Chairperson of the Trainers Section of the ITA.

Prior to becoming a psychotherapist Jim had wide and varied experience, including working:

• as a Senior Executive Officer for the Commission for Racial Equality, promoting equal opportunities for ethnic minority groups in employment
   
• as a Senior Research Fellow at Manchester University undertaking research projects in industrial sociology and author of articles and a book on industrial relations
   
• with young offenders in a NACRO residential setting supporting them back into working life
   
• in market research, including 18 months living and working in India
